An advanced training designed to enable engineers and professionals to design and implement FSSM for a town or city.
More than 62 lakh toilets were built in Urban India under SBM since 2014. While we have almost succeeded in providing access to toilets, with more than 50 % Indian households depending on on-site sanitation systems (OSS), the challenge we face today is to manage the waste collected in the OSS. FSSM is a quick and inexpensive solution that can drastically transform the sanitation situation in s mall towns and cities.
This training gives in-depth insights to engineers and practitioners, equipping them to design and implement FSSM efficiently. Post the training, the participants will be able to:
1. Conceptualise, design and supervise the construction of a Faecal Sludge Treatment Plan based on the requirements of the town
2. Ensure quality assurance in procurement and construction
3. Select and implement a suitable business model for sustainable FSSM
